The USGA's New "Groove":
- Old grooves will be legal during local qualifying for the 2010 US Open, but you will be required to switch to new grooves if you make it past local qualifying.
- Old grooves will be illegal during all qualifying for the 2010 US Senior Open.
- In 2014 all USGA events will adopt the new groove policy.
- In 2024 all players must adhere to the USGA's new groove policy if they wish to retain a certified USGA Handicap Index ®.
